Copper Development Association Inc. recently shared a communication with its members regarding #Copper and #Coronavirus. Here’s an interesting excerpt from that position statement: “Recently, a U.S. government-funded study published this week and conducted by researchers at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that the SARS-CoV-2 virus remained viable for up to 2 to 3 days on plastic and stainless steel surfaces vs. up to 4 hours on copper. While these initial findings are promising, given the limited evidence, further testing would be required to fully assess the effectiveness of copper alloys against SARS-CoV-2 and to support product advertising claims, which are not permitted by current EPA registrations.”
